Biography
Born in 1980 in Rochester Minnesota, Michael D. Edens grew up around clever programmers and humanitarian medical staff respectively employed at the world famous IBM corporation and Mayo Clinic medical institution. After graduating from Lourdes High School in 1998, Michael vigorously completed or tested out of every Film/TV BFA mandated film/video production class offered at NYU's Tisch School of the Arts during his first year of attendance. After discovering he would have to wait 2 more years before being allowed to enroll in a Senior Film Production class, he transferred to the Minneapolis College of Art & Design to enrich his visual communication skills.
During his time at MCAD he began working as a web developer with MLT Group in Rochester MN. Inspired by the limitless potential of the Internet, Michael transferred to the University of Minnesota in 2001, where he created and pioneered the very first Media Arts / Computer Studies degree through the School of Individualized Learning.
Since graduating in 2003, he has consistently worked as a Web Development and Marketing Specialist, and has additionally worked with amazing institutions such as Scholastic Inc., Mayo Clinic, WNYC Radio, Art Education for the Blind, Channel One News, and numerous clients in visual art, music, radio, theatre, and dance.
Simultaneously, Michael's visual artistic style and vision was forged amidst constant change and life challenges. He occasionally participated in solo and group shows, won awards, and has supported various humanitarian and cultural enrichment programs via visual art donations to The Western Australia Department of Education, AIDS Walk (New York and San Francisco), Find Your Talent (The Customs House, UK), and Hoofdzaken Periodical of the Dutch Migraine Association.
Michael's latest artistic efforts consist of continuing to develop and produce visual art for sale, including commissioned art and custom portrait drawings. He offers online marketing and creative development consultation and resources to businesses and individuals. And is integrating subscription based resources, for artists and art lovers, via interactive features and video production of the creative process on his website:

In 2009, Michael co-founded the wildly successful collaborative art gallery, The Artist Challenge.
Michael currently resides in Houston Texas, continuing to blur the line between abstract and conventional art by exploring the creative limits of mixed media, including:
