This is a quick marker drawing of a male face, sketched with a black marker in 2004. The drawing is about 6″ x 4″, and the man’s face was drawn very quickly in a loose and expressive style that’s slightly abstracted. Shadows and dark areas of the face were blocked in first, while secondary shadows and other details were added shortly after. The loose line work helps to pull the floating facial features together while maintaining the minimalistic and frantic tension.

Thanks for taking the time to comment Vikki. Your artwork looks beautiful and solid, very strong, yet an undercurrent of fragility. Good luck with your artistic pursuits!

What raw and emotive art you have. I am really drawn to it. Awesome stuff!
