This is a portrait drawing of a girl created with pen and water. A black pen was used to sketch her eyes in detail, and wispy lines suggest features like a nose, mouth, and hair. A brush with water was used to soften the stark lines around each striking facial feature. Larger areas of grey shadow, created with diluted pen ink, help to add volume to her hair. Much of the canvas was left untouched in order to convey a light and delicate atmosphere that allows the drawing to breath amidst her concerted yet distant stare.
