Hi Vikki,
Awesome! I'm glad to hear it's going well, this challenge is ON!

I did a quick sketch a few days ago, but I'm not sure it can stand on its own... I'll probably post it with some other sketches. I'm still not exactly sure where to start, and am eager to see your work!

(Is that how the challenge works? Do I wait for you to post? If I'm confused, that's par for the course. Either way I can have something by Monday too!)

Thanks Lou!
It's a pretty fun process to play around with... familiar landscapes in particular have an interesting depth to them, which gets accentuated even further when paint gets thicker or more layers of cut paper are added. Subtle shadows emerge, and viewers tend to take a second look to figure out what's going on.

Wow. I really like this. I thought of an aquarium when first I saw it. I was waiting for a fish to swim by. But is so cool and I had never heard of laminating to create layers but it's such a neat idea and it makes so much sense.

Thanks Vikki!
The laminating was one of those 'spur of the moment' ideas... I got a deal on a used laminator, (didn't really think it through, because I've found the laminate is expensive), but it's creating some really neat effects with all the layered faces I've been drawing. Other ideas have been growing exponentially from there... I'll share more in future posts, once I find a limit to the number of layers of laminate that can be applied to one drawing! ;)

This is really pretty Michael. You may be thinking 'blue' but I thought 'summer time-water- pool' when I first saw it. I haven't done laminating before but that's really a great idea.

(Love the yellow eyes!)
